Move and Groove

Move and Groove is an amazing intergenerational project funded by Sports England through Youth Sports Trust and a Music Therapy company called Intergenerational Music Making (IMM). Lucy from Shadow, is now a ‘Move and Groove’ activator and runs this project across the North West. This project includes a selected group of young people from schools to go into Nursing and Residential homes- to complete A 6 week music and movement project which is built to break down barriers in ages and also to tackle loneliness. Lucy from Shadow has been part of the pilot project with South Bank University and has gathered part of the projects research. This project is FREE for schools and we are looking at setting up many more collaborations from Sept 2022!

Mental health and Wellbeing Interventions

Having recently qualified in Mental health First aid, and with mental and physical wellbeing being at the forefront of what we do at Shadow Dance, we are now offering mental health and wellbeing interventions with targeted groups. These interventions, will always include a physical activity that the young person enjoys, and allows them to have some time out of the classroom, so that they are able to reach their full potential, once their session in done. Packages are very specific to the needs of the young people involved- please get in touch for more details.
